The Story Behind Royalty

In early 2020, Moxie completed what would become one of our most iconic projects to date: the music video for Egzod’s Royalty. At the time, we had just pivoted hard into the music industry, shifting from broader commercial work into full-fledged creative partnerships with artists. Royalty was a turning point—a bold, cinematic statement that proved what our team could deliver when we combined storytelling, world-building, and technical precision in service of music.

Building a World, Not Just a Video

The Royalty video was never meant to be a standard visualizer. From the beginning, it was a full-scale 3D animated experience, designed to match the track’s deep and ancient sound with equally ambitious visuals. We crafted a historic feeling world of adventure and mystery. The tone was crisp, cinematic, and visually rich—an extension of Egzod’s cinematic, eastern sonic identity.

The Diamond Standard

What followed was something few could have predicted. The music video exploded—garnering over 500 million views across platforms, and helping push the track itself to Diamond status with over 1 billion streams. For an independent artist, and a team still new to the music space, it was massive. But more than just a number, it marked a shift in what we—and the artists we work with—could achieve when the creative and strategic sides align.

A New Era Begins

Royalty came at a critical moment. We had just made the call to leave behind one-off brand campaigns and corporate ad work in favor of a deeper focus on music. The success of the video validated that choice. It attracted artists, labels, and managers who saw the value in our approach: visuals that aren’t just beautiful, but built to last, to perform, and to make a mark. From that point on, Moxie wasn’t just making videos—we were helping shape artist legacies.

Lasting Impact on Artist and Audience

Beyond the numbers, Royalty struck a chord with fans around the world. The video’s mythic tone and sweeping visuals became deeply associated with Egzod’s identity—sparking fan art, remixes, and years of continued engagement. It also marked the beginning of a long-term creative partnership between Egzod and Moxie, setting the tone for future projects built not just for virality, but for long-lasting emotional and cultural resonance.

Legacy in Motion

Even today, Royalty continues to serve as a reference point for what’s possible. It laid the foundation for long-term collaboration with Egzod, and established a blueprint for many of our future projects: cinematic world-building, high-speed workflows, and results that break through the noise. As we look ahead, the impact of that moment still fuels our drive. Moxie was built for moments like this—and Royalty was the proof.
